APB is a legal service charity powered by several dedicated staff and thousands of volunteer lawyers, united in the goal of increasing access to justice in British Columbia.
Each year, APB provides free legal information, advice and representation to over 25,000 low-income British Columbians and small non-profits.
We offer a wide variety of free legal services to help British Columbians overcome their legal problems.
Every dollar raised leverages six dollars of high-quality free legal service for British Columbians in need.

Cause

Our mission is to promote access to justice in British Columbia by providing and fostering high-quality free legal services for people and non-profit organizations of limited means.

Since 2010, our staff and pro bono lawyers have provided free legal help to BC's most vulnerable residents. We pursue our mission through a variety of activities, including free legal advice and representation, community education and outreach, legal assistance for BC non-profits, collaboration with other social service agencies and community organizations, and advocacy and strategic litigation. 

Over the past two years, the Covid-19 pandemic has disproportionately impacted low-income and marginalized populations. Many of our fellow British Columbians are facing financial strain, housing insecurity, unemployment and loss of family stability. Without access to justice, these issues and many other social and personal challenges are intensified.

We are working hard to meet service demand in all BC communities by expanding our program capacity, recruiting more volunteer lawyers, and launching new and innovative projects. 

Purchase raffle tickets and help us to empower the most vulnerable members of our communities! Together, we will create a more just and equitable legal system in BC.
